S’gor Sultan cautions state govt over Malay reserve land

(The Star) – The Sultan of Selangor has cautioned the state government to be responsible when handling Malay reserve land.

Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said he did not want Malay reserve land to be transferred to non-Malays.

“I am sure the Mentri Besar and all state government staff involved in land matters will always be wary and ensure that the status of Malay reserve land is not changed,” the Sultan said in his address at the opening of the state assembly session here Monday.

He also said he wanted an end to land encroachment, and hoped the Selangor government, together with corporate companies and the people, would play their role in eradicating this.
