Anwar accepts WikiLeaks invitation to debate with Najib and Raja Petra

Wikileaks Debate

(Malaysian Digest) – Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today has agreed to accept the invitation from WikiLeaks to participate in a three-cornered debate with the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin.

“I received the invitation from Julian Assange last night and I replied ‘Yes’,” said Anwar.

Anwar had also replied the same way to a tweeter message from a follower who had re-tweeted a Malaysian Digest‘s article on the matter earlier this morning.

Anwar said that he has no problem in facing Raja Petra and the Prime Minister in a debate though he expects Najib to be the one who will be facing problems during the debate if he (Najib) agrees participates.

“Najib seems to be a big fan of Raja Petra nowadays,” said Anwar.

“He forgets that in Raja Petra’s website, it is him and her wife Datin Rosmah Mansor who are always getting bashed by Raja Petra and its readers,” Anwar added.

Commenting on the setting of the debate, Anwar said that no further discussions have yet to be made.

“I am fine with anything, it can be held in London, or perhaps we can use video conference. I am open to anything,” said Anwar.

WikiLeaks in a press release via Twitter yesterday have formally invited Najib to a debate with Anwar and Raja Petra either together, or in isolation.

The whistleblower website said the press release is a response to the recent controversy over Anwar and Raja Petra and following Najib’s comments on Anwar’s refusal to accept Raja Petra’s invitation to debate with him (Raja Petra).
