MCA to PAS: Explain contradictory stand

Pakatan’s confidence in winning the general election contradicts its claims that the electoral roll is flawed, says MCA’s Chua Tee Yong.

(Free Malaysia Today) – MCA has taken PAS to task over its “confidence” at forming the next federal government under Pakatan Rakyat while claiming that the electoral roll is flawed.

Questioning the opposition party’s contradicting statement, MCA Young Professional Bureau chairman, Chua Tee Yong, asked: “Since PAS and Pakatan are so confident in the upcoming election, does it mean that our electoral roll has no problems at all?

“Does it mean that our upcoming election will be fair, clean and impartial?”

He also pointed out in his statement today that Pakatan had claimed that the electoral roll was flawed and that the next election will not be clean and fair.

“In which case, why is Pakatan beaming with confidence as if they have already won the election?” he asked.

Chua, who is also Labis MP, was responding to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s claim on Tuesday that Pakatan would amend the status of Islam from official religion to Addin (a way of life) when the latter comes into power after the 13th general election.

He also highlighted the difference between Islamist-based PAS and secular DAP that have often been at odds over various issues.

He wondered how DAP will be able to champion the interest of the non-Muslims by using the new fatwa ruling in Kedah last month since DAP is only powerful in Penang

The new fatwa ruling gives absolute power to the mufti and fatwa committee.

“DAP is like a political eunuch.

“Not only the people of Kedah, but also the citizens of Malaysa have seen the true colours of PAS and its real motives, while, on the other hand, DAP is an accomplice in assisting PAS in building a theocratic state,” Chua said.
