Rais: Anwar No Longer Cares About the Malays and Islam

(Bernama) – Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said the statement by opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that he was willing to be a tool of the DAP shows that he no longer cares for the Malays.
Rais said Anwar was someone who was prepared to do anything and considered all of them as ‘halal’ or permissible as long as he could become prime minister.

“The Malays should evaluate such attitude and character. The Muslims must make an evaluation, what is the DAP. I have known him (Anwar) for a long time,” said Rais, who is also a member of the Umno Supreme Council.

He said this when asked to comment on the news today which reported that Anwar was willing to be the tool of the DAP if this enabled the opposition pact to capture Putrajaya in the 13th general election.

Rais said that in his obsession to take Putrajaya, Anwar had made many promises to the rakyat although none of these promises had been fulfilled.

He added that those who had expressed their support for Anwar were the minority group and he believed that with the antics of the DAP and PAS, Anwar would not be able to achieve harmony in the country.
