Be aware of Anwar’s tactics, says Rais

(Bernama) – — Malaysians should be aware of and understand the tactics of opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is said to be always lying, including at the Bersih 3.0 protest rally on April 28.

Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said Anwar’s claim that over 200,000 people participated in that rally, was a lie as the actual number was 22,275.

“How did we get this figure? We got it from aerial views (of the rally) with the cooperation of the police and other parties, which used the method called  centimetre exposition mechanism photography.

“For each centimetre, we did a headcount and we found the total number (of rally participants) to be 22,275 but Anwar said it was more than 200,000. What does this mean then? From here, we can see that Anwar was lying, as he always does.”

Rais said this in his speech when opening the Teluk Kemang parliamentary constituency’s Program Mesra 1Malaysia, here, today.

Rais said Anwar’s claim that rally participants were not violent was also not true as there was also damage to his (Rais) office located in the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, opposite Dataran Merdeka, where rally participants had gathered and turned unruly.

At the Himpunan Jutaan Belia 2012 (Million Youth Rally 2012) in Putrajaya, he said the event, which saw many more participants than the Bersih 3.0 rally, did not cause any difficulty to the public and no damage to public property.

“There has been no violent incident at the gathering in Putrajaya. Youths from all races gathered there for various healthy activities.”

Therefore, Rais said, the people should be wary and not follow the ways of Anwar who he sees as trying to grab power through violence and deceit.

Also present at the event, here, were Teluk Kemang Umno division chief, Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.
