Ibrahim Ali: Peace Is Perkasa’s Main Priority

(Malaysian Digest) – Datuk Ibrahim Ali said that the safety of the country is Perkasa’s “number one priority”.

The president of the right-wing Malay NGO said that Perkasa is worried that some parties will question the result of the upcoming general election.

He was commenting on recent concerns over the likelihood of violence should Pakatan Rakyat lose in the coming general election as implied by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad recently.

“Of late there are indications of an attempt to bring down the government using illegal methods. These parties are questioning EC’s (Election Commission) capability by accusing the organization as being pro government.

“As far as Perkasa is concerned the safety of this country is our number one priority. The government must take stern action against this threatening development,” he said.

Ibrahim (pic) also announced the appointment of the new Perkasa Selangor chief Abu Bakar replacing Abdullah Mansor who was appointed advisor and members of the supreme council at Kelab Sultan Sulaiman here yesterday.

Meanwhile, on blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin’s recent exposé on Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim covering up the wrongdoings of PKR deputy president Azmin Ali during Anwar’s time as deputy prime minister, Ibrahim urged Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to take immediate action against the two PKR leaders.
