Another round of Karpal vs Ramasamy feud?
(The Star) – The feud over the Penang Hindu Endowment Board (PHEB) between two DAP leaders, which cooled down in recent months, seems to have reignited.
Just days before the consecration of the biggest and iconic Hindu temple in Penang, someone found it timely to ‘cut out’ the image of DAP national chairman Karpal Singh from several banners promoting the ceremony.
The banners placed at several locations are to highlight the maha kumbabishegam (consecration ceremony) for the new RM9mil Arulmigu Balathandayuthapani Temple in Jalan Kebun Bunga on Friday.
But the one along Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling was found without Karpal’s image.
The images of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy, Datuk Keramat assemblyman Jagdeep Singh Deo, Uban assemblyman S. Raveentharan, Seri Delima assemblyman R.S.N. Rayer and Bagan Dalam assemblyman A. Thanasekaran were intact.
A similar banner along Jalan Utama had the images of Karpal and his supporter, Rayer, both cut out.
Karpal and Dr Ramasamy, also DAP deputy secretary-general, went for each other last year after Dr Ramasamy listed himself and three others as general election candidates. This infuriated Karpal.
In verbal exchanges, Karpal labelled Dr Ramasamy a “warlord”, while the latter responded by calling Karpal a “godfather”.
