The letters published below confirm that Derek Fernandez spoke to the Datuk Bandar of MBPJ to instruct them to award the legal work to Sivarasa Rasiah’s legal firm, contrary to what Derek said on 7th January 2012 (I have never influenced MBPJ in assigning work to any law firm or to any lawyer). FMT LETTER, From Derek Fernandez, via e-mail

My name is Derek Fernandez. I am the managing partner at the law firm of Fernandez & Selvarajah.

Please be advised that my firm was never on the panel of MBPJ, nor has my firm received any cases from MBPJ. This can easily be verified from the records of MBPJ.

The allegations against me and my firm are untrue.

Please also note that I have never influenced MBPJ in assigning work to any law firm or to any lawyer.

Kindly take the necessary steps to withdraw the allegations immediately, failing which I may take the necessary legal action.
