UNRELENTING: Pas Youth chief says struggle to uphold Islam must go on

(NST) – IN the clearest sign yet that Pas is unrelenting on its hudud stand, Pas Youth chief Nasrudin Hassan Tantawi tweeted last night that those who rejected Allah’s laws would be considered kufur (non-believer).

“(DAP chairman) Karpal (Singh) is consistent in rejecting hudud because he is a non-believer. Pas must continue with its struggle to uphold Islam,” he tweeted.

Karpal has always been vocal about his objection to the implementation of hudud in Malaysia.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat Youth was also reported to have sided with Karpal.

Its chief, Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, had warned Nasrudin that he had opened a Pandora’s box with his recent comment on the implementation of hudud, which had raised the ire of Karpal and other DAP members.

He said it was improper for Nasrudin to dredge up the longstanding issue as he claimed that the stance of the alliance between PKR, DAP and Pas on the Islamic criminal law was clear.

Nasruddin said last night that one’s intention to implement God’s laws would be a sign of faith in oneself.

“And those who reject God’s laws reflect their disbelief. Search for Allah’s blessing, although millions oppose,” he tweeted.
