Reply to LGE Press Statement Allegations Regarding MCA & CSL about Hudud

MCA and Gerakan continues their irresponsible, dishonest and untruthful attacks on DAP’s support for PAS hudud laws and establishing an Islamic state as well as launch personal attacks that shows their desperation to revive lost popular support. Both MCA and Gerakan are like “culprits hurling the accusation first” by trying to hide their failure to demand action against UMNO leaders’ support for hudud to be imposed even on non-Muslims. Let me reiterate that DAP does not support the implementation of an Islamic state in Malaysia and imposition of hudud law by PAS. This consistent position of DAP has never changed. Despite these differences, both DAP and PAS have a common stand in fighting corruption and abuse of power as well as establishing integrity in leadership focusing on competency, accountability and transparency. We agree on a welfare state to protect the poor, destitute, sick and those who neeed help.

(There is nothing untruthful and dishonest about MCA/Gerakan’s attacks on DAP’s stand regarding Hudud. It is the known truth that PAS is consistent with their Hudud stand until today and DAP has been very passive about this issue to give way to PAS to hijack this issue to increase the Malay support for Pakatan Rakyat. So in this case who is more desperate for popular votes now? The real culprit behind Hudud is no other than you as the leader of DAP that is not vocal enough to fight against PAS. Indirectly in your silence you are giving way to PAS to implement Hudud in our country.

If DAP is consistent in fighting HUDUD, that is the DAP in the past. In the past the great DAP even pulled out from Barisan Alternatif just because PAS did not want to abandon their Hudud and Islamist cause. But today the DAP is no longer the old DAP. It is like a husband telling his wife I do not love you anymore but will never plan to divorce his wife.

 

What CAT are you talking about when in Talam Issue until today the White Paper is not yet even presented in the state? What about the other PR states that never even revealed or declared their assets? What about the high number of projects in Kedah that never go through proper open tender?)

 

Common policy framework

DAP and PAS can and should co-operate for the future of Malaysians on common principles that unites us as compared to continue to benefit BN by allowing these differences to divide us.

 

For this reason both DAP and PAS have signed a ‘common policy’ that sets out the framework of what unites us and the nation-building policy of a future PR federal government. Clearly the ‘common policy’ makes no mention of implementing an Islamic state or hudud laws in any future PR federal government.

(How do you claim that PR  has a common policy when PAS’ policy supports the implementation of Hudud and DAP opposes it? Is this still a common policy? Now who do you want us to believe? PAS claims that Hudud is part of PR’s policy and now DAP claims that it is not. PR’s common policy is as simple as wanting to capture Putrajaya at all costs and ignoring the facts that until today PAS and DAP cannot come to even 1 basic agreement regarding the Hudud issue.)

 

Umno even more extreme than PAS

This is unlike UMNO Penang which is willing to go one step further by calling for the implementation of hudud in Penang and throughout the country.

Even Johor Umno’s Kemelah state assemblyman Ayub Rahmat called for Johor to become the first state to implement “true hudud law”, which would differ from PAS’s version because UMNO’s “true hudud law” would be non-discriminatory as it would be imposed on non-Muslims.

Not only did Penang State Opposition Leader Dato Azhar Ibrahim but the Kepala Batas Wanita UMNO Division also passed a resolution supporting hudud for all.

In other words, UMNO in wanting to implement hudud on non-Muslims too is more extreme than PAS who wants to see hudud implemented only on Muslims.

I do not see top Gerakan leaders attacking UMNO leaders nor MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek using the same remarks of “political eunuchs” on UMNO. Why has MCA nor Gerakan not left BN because of UMNO leaders open support for hudud for all?

DAP will not stoop so low to dirty tactics or smear campaigns employed by MCA and Gerakan against DAP leaders.

(When you use the word EXTREME then indirectly you already admit that PAS is extreme. I hope PAS’ leader can come out to answer whether what you claim that PAS is extreme is true or not. Please do not quote 1 or 2 people in UMNO that is supporting Hudud.

How can UMNO be more extreme than PAS where only 2 people from UMNO supports Hudud? How can UMNO be more extreme than PAS where is an actual no Hudud clause in UMNO’s party constitution but your so called Pakatan Rakyat PAS party constitution is pushing for Hudud.

Just a few individuals in a political party (UMNO) on one hand and the entire political party stand (PAS) on the other. And even the setup of PAS’ political party – their main agenda, struggle, cause and objective is to IMPLEMENT an Islamist state in the country.

None of the UMNO top leaders ever claim that they ever wanted to implement HUDUD. But the entire PAS from their top leadership to every single member of PAS is demanding and fighting to implement Hudud. See the differences?

Worse Hadi Awang as the President of PAS even wanted to change our country’s constitution to amend that ISLAM IS THE WAY OF LIFE after PR takes over.

Chua Soi Lek is very vocal about Hudud. Both him and his son even went further to claim that if BN were to implement HUDUD, MCA will quit the coalition.)


Soi Lek’s sex DVD

DAP has never misused parliamentary immunity to highlight Chua Soi Lek’s famous sex tapes. Nor have we attacked Chua as an immoral person leading an immoral party. Neither have we conducted a smear campaign like Gerakan against my family and me.

Unfortunately such courage is never displayed by Gerakan leaders against UMNO whom Gerakan fully supports even though UMNO has shown utter contempt for Gerakan by tearing up Gerakan President Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon’s picture.

(DAP had never brought out Chua Soi Lek’s issue in parliament but that does not mean that DAP has never gone out in their public ceramah and using all their own media and online cyber troopers to play Chua Soi Lek’s issue until today.

PAS had been calling you all DAP Kafir. So what do you all want to say about this issue? What makes you all different from Koh Tsu Khoon? You are the one who should be blamed for your own scandals. Please do not drag other people into your scandal. Chua Soi Lek’s scandal is Chua Soi Lek’s scandal and Lim Guan Eng’s scandal is Lim Guan Eng’s scandal. How on earth can Chua Soi Lek’s scandal be CSL’s scandal and Lim Guan Eng’s scandal is also CSL’s scandal?

Why do you transfer out Xiau Hung 24 hours out from your office? What wrong had she done if this whole issue is not real? And why has Xiau Hung until today not deny the allegations? Why didn’t your wife reply earlier when questioned by reporters and instead asked the reporter to ask you?)

Both MCA & Gerakan quiet when it comes to Umno

Lest we forget, it is UMNO that bans the use of the word “Allah” on Malay language Christian bibles, widely used in Sabah and Sarawak. In contrast, PAS takes the moderate approach allowing Christians to use the word “Allah” as being practised these hundred years in the Middle-East and Indonesia.

Clearly there is a difference between DAP co-operating with PAS and either MCA or Gerakan co-operating with UMNO, when both PAS and UMNO supports hudud and the Islamic state. PAS is open about their support but not wanting to impose on non-Muslims whilst UMNO only expresses their support for hudud or all in Malay but not Chinese/English papers.

DAP co-operates with PAS on common principles of justice, freedom and democracy with our eyes open unlike MCA, MIC and Gerakan whom submits to UMNO with both eyes closed.

(Regarding the Allah issue, the High Court has already reverted the suggestion. That just shows how transparent our Malaysian court is. UMNO has never supported Hudud. You have to rephrase your statement. A few individuals in UMNO support it and the entire leadership and members in PAS support Hudud. So DAP is cooperating with a political party where the entire political party supports Hudud and MCA is cooperating with UMNO where only a few individuals inside the party support it.
