DAP a ‘cleansing center’, says Soi Lek

(Bernama) – MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek has described the DAP as a ‘cleansing center’ as it tried to convince the Chinese community that Parti Keadilan Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is a very clean politician.

“Let me tell you that Anwar was in BN (Barisan Nasional) and Umno for 17 years, during which he was severely criticized by DAP.”

“But now, DAP portrays Anwar as a very clean and open leader. Without doubt, DAP has become a cleansing center,” he told reporters after opening the Johor MCA Convention in Kulaijaya today.

Chua (pic) also said the DAP had yet to ask Anwar to make a statutory declaration on 20 master accounts worth RM3 billion controlled by Bank Negara former assistant governor Datuk Abdul Murad Khalid.

Chua said the DAP gave false promises by saying that the Chinese community would be ‘kingmakers’ in the next general election as they would enable the opposition to wrest power in Johor.

He said there were no kingmakers in a diverse society as they would impede progress and development for the people of all races.

Hence, he urged Johor MCA members to be prepared to face stiff competition from the DAP as it would play the racial card in the next general election.

He urged BN members to give full support to any BN candidate contesting in the next general election, and to avoid sabotage and treacherous acts.
