I am a victim, says DAP man

(The Star) – Sacked Sepang DAP parliamentary liaison committee member Tan Tuan Tat believes that he has been victimised for being a staunch supporter of Selangor Assembly Speaker Datuk Teng Chang Khim.

“Everyone knows about my allegiance to Teng, who fought for me to be given a post in the Sepang council.

“They sacked me because they want to curtail Teng’s influence in Selangor,” he claimed in a statement.

Tan, who is chairman of the Taman Sri Sg Pelek branch, said he was unaware of disciplinary committee chairman Tan Kok Wai‘s claim that he was found to have forged 149 membership forms to form three pro tem branches in Sungai Pelek.

He said DAP encouraged freedom of expression to the world, but within the party, it used the disciplinary committee as a political tool of secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to silence critics.

“The disciplinary committee is selective and biased in its prosecution.

“It sacked Pandamaran chairman Tee Boon Hock for issuing a support letter but no action was taken against Perak secretary Ngar Kor Ming for the tailoring contract.

“There have also been several complaints against certain leaders like Lee Kee Hiong, Ronnie Liu, Tiew Wei Kheng and Teo Nie Ching, but the committee did not initiate any action against them because they are aligned with Lim Guan Eng,” Tuan Tat alleged.

He said this clearly showed that the committee was not fair and independent in carrying out its duties.
