Najib called on MCA to take ‘Viagra’ but Wee said 100Plus would do
(Harakah Daily) – Giving what he described as the ‘last call’ to MCA during the party’s annual general assembly last weekend, Prime Minister Najib Razak had called on the Chinese-based party to take ‘political Viagra’ to revive its dwindling public support before it is too late.
Najib said MCA members are still low in spirit, and as such a boost of ‘political Viagra’ is needed.
Najib’s choice of using the term ‘Viagra’, a popular western medication to treat erectile dysfunction in his address at such an important event for MCA, had raised eyebrows, especially when it could potentially reignite the memory of the infamous video sex scandal that befell former MCA president Chua Soi Lek before his comeback to politics.
To be fair to Najib, perhaps there was no better word for him to express and to jolt MCA members to awake to realise the dire situation MCA is presently in.
It was under Chua’s leadership that MCA had suffered its worst record where the party had only managed to secure seven parliamentary and 11 state seats in the 13th general election.
Newly-minted MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong however brushed Najib’s suggestion aside. To him, MCA was not as impotent as Najib thought, to the extent of needing ‘Viagra’ to revive the embattled party.
