(TMI) – An email titled “C For Chaos” to incite a rally on New Year’s Eve was sent by the opposition, alleged Umno-backed daily Utusan Malaysia.

The email allegedly written by Abdul Rahim Ghouse, a close friend of opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has gone viral since it was first posted two days ago.

The email, addressed to Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli, details the December 31 rally known as Ops Turun with a line that says, “act as per discussed in our previous meeting”.

According to Utusan, the email has been published in blogs and that it contains a reference to sending a team to the site to record and “immediately upload” videos onto YouTube.

“It will become viral big time,” the email stated, adding that Umno and the ruling Barisan Nasional will be blamed. The team will also react to on-the-ground response to the event.

The email also highlighted specific locations that should be avoided.

“With regard to Ops Turun, please inform our guys to avoid the following locations on 31 December for their own safety,” it stated.

The locations are the traffic lights at the Sogo Shopping Mall, Puduraya, KTM railway station near the National Mosque, the Masjid Jamek Light Rail Transit (LRT) station and Bank Negara’s KTM station.

In case of any arrest, the email said “do not screw up!” and that detainees would be compensated.

According to Utusan, Abdul Rahim had denied writing the email.

“I deny that the email was written by me. Someone made it up using my name. They did it for their own agenda and are tying me to it,” he was quoted as saying by the Malay daily.

Abdul Rahim added that he would look into the allegations before taking further actions.
