(Malaysia Digest) – Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin was urged to meet and discuss with the 11 representatives from the 14 Pahang Divisions Umno Youth divisions.

Youth Chief of Paya Besar Division Mohd Shahar Abdullah said they had submitted a memorandum of protest on January 8 but was ignored by Khairy.

“We are very disappointed with his actions, as he was supposed to give an explanation on the memorandum, but after almost 2 weeks there was still no reply.

“He should clarify every issue that was brought up,” he said on behalf of the other 14 Umno Youth Chiefs.

The memorandum was sent to protest the appointment of Pekan Division Youth Chief Shahruddin Ahmad as the State Youth Chief, replacing Datuk Abu Jimi Samad.

The appointment which took effect on November 30 last year caused dissatisfaction among the youth leader who did not agree with the decision, prompting them to send the protest memorandum which Khairy ignored.

Meanwhile, the Youth Chief of Indera Putera Division Muhammad Faiz Hashim said Khairy should resolve all issues amicably according as he touted in the newspapers.

“I am dismayed, he always told BN leaders to not flatter themselves and to solve problems together, but he’s not keeping his words,” he said, at the same time questioning Khairy’s refusal to discuss the matter with them.

“He also said that young people don’t like protocols and bureaucracy, but why did he appoint the State Youth Chief without our consent,” he said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

Also present were Youth Chiefs from Maran, Bera, Cameron Highland, Rompin, Jerantut, Raub, Temerloh, Kuala Krau, and Kuantan.
