PMO confirms Waytha Moorthy’s resignation

(The Star) – Hindraf chairman P. Waytha Moorthy has resigned from his position as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) confirmed.

A source from the PMO said a letter of resignation was received at 5pm Monday.

Hindraf, through a statement issued by its secretary P. Ramesh on Saturday, had quoted the Government’s failure to keep its promises made under a memorandum of understanding signed before the May 5, 2013 general election as the reason for Waytha Moorthy’s resignation.
