Khalid, Azmin to testify before Selcat next month, says Hannah Yeoh
(fz.com) – Selangor’s Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) will call up Azmin Ali and Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim next month to shed light into the controversy surrounding Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).
The committee is expected to hear the matter on March 25 and 26, announced Speaker Hannah Yeoh today.
Speaking at a press conference, she said both Azmin, a former PKNS board member and Khalid would be called up to testify before the panel.
“We intend to hear two main issues including Azmin’s position in the board and the 22 PKNS staff who were recently sacked.”
“There were so many versions of the story, so we need to sort it out.” she said.
Yeoh said it would take the committee about one month to gather the necessary documents for the public hearing.
The state corporation has been engulfed in what is widely seen as a power tussle between Khalid and Azmin as PKR’s party election looms closer.
Azmin, who was given the boot prior to his term expiry cried foul, causing Khalid and the corporation’s then general manager, Othman Omar to point fingers at each other on who was responsible for the sacking.
Othman and executive secretary, Norita Sidek were later transferred out of office for openly refuting Khalid’s claims. This was later followed by the dismissal of 22 contract staffs at the corporation.
