‘MCA will expose Anwar’s true colour’
Liow Tiong Lai chides Anwar for using the Kajang election to resolve PKR’s internal disputes

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA members have always been labeled as a bunch of good guys in the wrong party, but not anymore as its Kajang by-election Chew Mei Fun proves to have better traits than the “lying” opposition leader, said Liow Tiong Lai.
In his speech at MCA’s 65th anniversary celebration today, party president Liow said MCA has always suffered from the perception it does not have talents or its talents are in the wrong party.
“Today we will tell our members and the Chinese, that MCA has talents.
“We recognise the quality of the candidate, and we believe the candidate’s words and action must be consistent, daring and humane.
“We would compare our candidate with Anwar, who is inconsistent in his words and deeds, who can be ruthless on Khalid Ibrahim and who is willing to do anything even if it meant to discredit Pakatan Rakyat,
“Through this Kajang by-election, we can prove to the Chinese community that MCA is a bunch of good people in the right party.
“This is something that Anwar who has lied about his Sept 16 regime change plot cannot emulate.
“We will fight the by-election battle with high spirit, we will never give up until the last moment,” he told thousands of MCA central delegates in Wisma MCA today.
He also criticised Pakatan for indulging in internal power struggle post the 13thGeneral Election last year, as evident with the resignation of former Kajang assemblyman Lee Chin Cheh to pave way for Anwar to contest.
Anwar is being seen as making the move to contain the rising hostility between Khalid and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, and Anwar is likely to replace Khalid as Menteri Besar should he win the by-election.
“They resort to using the votes of public to resolve internal disputes and conflicts, and has completely exposed their selfish attitude.
“MCA will come forward and expose PKR’s true colour, we will tell the Chinese community of how in the past Anwar had suppressed Chinese education,” he said, referring to Anwar’s unpopular move of deploying non-Mandarin speaking principals to head Chinese schools in the 1980s.
The anniversary celebration would also see the holding of an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) which would decide on whether MCA is to rejoin federal government.
