Kajang by-election: Mafrel gives assurance
(The Sun Daily) – Malaysians for Free and Fair Elections (Mafrel) today said it will ensure the Kajang by-election is carried out in a free and fair manner with voters exercising their rights without fear or favour and free from undue pressure or coercion.
Its chairman, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, said it will deploy some 30 volunteers to observe as static and mobile election observers in all 15 election centres.

Syed Ibrahim said they will monitor all aspects of the election process with focus on corruption practices, abuse of public and government resources, incident of violent or dangerous acts including hate and racist campaigning during the election process, and level of security and presence of security forces, especially the police.
He urged political candidates and their supporters to secure the rights of the voters to freely formulate and decide on their vote without violating the election laws and regulations.
He called on the Election Commission to uphold the sanctity of the organisation and to remain independent and impartial while conducting the forthcoming by-election.
