‘Win will help BN boost racial unity’
(NST) – PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak yesterday said the Kajang by-election had stemmed from the “Kajang Move” orchestrated by PKR for its political interests.
He hoped that voters in Kajang would give their full support to Barisan Nasional candidate Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun at the polls in the state constituency today.
He said a victory in Kajang would help BN strengthen unity among the races and contribute to the country’s development.
“This by-election’s campaign has occurred as the government is carrying out a large-scale international effort to search for flight MH370, which went missing with 239 passengers and crew members.
“Let us continue to pray for the success of this effort, and MH370 should not become a political issue as what had actually transpired remains a mystery among investigators.”
The Kajang by-election was necessitated following the resignation of PKR’s Lee Chin Cheh on Jan 27, after less than a year in office.
Chew will face a straight fight against PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Meanwhile, Najib tweeted that Malaysia appreciated Japan’s support for the search-and-rescue (SAR) operation and encouraging words relating to the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.
“Spoke to Japan premier Shinzo Abe yesterday. Malaysia greatly appreciates Japan’s support for the SAR ops and encouraging words,” he tweeted at his account @NajibRazak.
