Stop Red Bean Army from threatening national harmony, says Senator Yahaya
(Bernama) – A government supporter today called on the authorities to act against the Red Bean Army (RBA), which he described as a threat to harmony in the country.
Senator Datuk Yahaya Mat Ghani said these opposition-linked cyber-troopers had crossed the line of human decency with their extreme negative actions (postings) to serve their vested interest.
He said besides countering negative news reports from the foreign media, the government needed to be more aggressive in dealing with “evil hands” from within the country which were spewing lies and slander through the RBA.
“The RBA is a misfortune to the nation; it’s creating problems for the people. Although hundreds of police reports have been lodged against the RBA, still no action has been taken.
“I’m surprised about this. Is the RBA immune from any form of action?” he said when debating on the motion of thanks for the royal address at the Dewan Negara sitting, here, today.
Yahaya, who is also Batu Barisan Nasional chairman, said he supported the proposed setting up of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to investigate the threats posed by the RBA.
He said the setting up of the RCI should not be delayed as the RBA had been misleading the public with their lies and baseless accusations, including on the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
The Dewan Rakyat sitting continues tomorrow.
