Guan Eng: Tian Chua lying over Pakatan stand on hudud
(Malay Mail Online) – DAP Secretary General Lim Guan Eng today labelled PKR’s Tian Chua a liar for spreading untruths in the media over the opposition coalition’s stance on hudud laws.
In a strongly worded statement, Guan Eng slammed PKR vice-president Tian Chua for telling mainstream media that DAP had agreed along with its other Pakatan Rakyat allies to support hudud laws being implemented in Kelantan
“Tian Chua’s lies were given wide coverage in the mainstream media despite not supported by facts or documentation
“DAP considers it irresponsible, wrong and unethical for Tian Chua to drag DAP into adopting his stand of supporting PAS in implementing hudud laws within the borders of Kelantan and Terengganu, but not in other parts of Malaysia,” Guan Eng, also the chief minister of Penang state said.
De facto opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has clearly reaffirmed that DAP has consistently opposed the implementation of hudud laws on Muslims in Kelantan, he said.
“DAP leaders hope that Tian Chua will stop repeating such lies in view of Datuk Seri Anwar’s public reaffirmation that DAP had never agreed to the implementation of hudud laws by PAS,” he added.
PAS has been pushing to implement hudud laws in Kelantan.
The move has been strongly opposed by DAP and rights groups.
