Utusan compares ‘foul mouthed’ Penang rep to toilet, says treatment needed

(Malay Mail Online) – Comparing Penang lawmaker RSN Rayer to a “dirty toilet” Umno-backed Utusan Malaysia advised the former to seek treatment for his “foul-mouthed” condition.

The Malay daily said Rayer needs counselling for being unable to discern from a legislative assembly and public toilet in relation to the latter’s “Umno celaka” remark last week.

“Awang is worried, if Rayer doesn’t undergo treatment for the shit that comes out his mouth it would become deeply ingrained,” Awang Selamat, wrote in Mingguan Malaysia, the paper’s weekend edition.

“We would not want him to sheathed a toilet bowl over his head every time there’s a legislative assembly sitting,” the paper said.

Awang Selamat, a pseudonym used to represent the collective voice of the paper’s editors, added that the incident has proven DAP to the “most racist party” as its leaders are often “inciting and insulting other races”.

“Coming back to Rayer, Awang is curious if he was denied love, and growing up with a ribald or a confused mind — the answer is no.

“A word of advice from Awang, he needs to undergo counselling. Shame on DAP, there are leaders who do not know how to differentiate between a legislative assembly and a week-long unclean public toilet.

The daily added that DAP is condoning Rayer’s “bad behaviour” as the Pakatan Rakyat party has refused to apologise for the former’s transgressions.

“It can also be assumed that Rayer is insulting Malays and Muslims because Umno is predominantly for Malays and Muslims,” said the newspaper, adding that it is “understandable that many are provoked”.

“Don’t blame people for reacting. Extremism invites extremism,” it added rationalising the fracas at the island state’s legislative assembly last week.

On Wednesday, some Umno Youth members trespassed into the Penang legislative assembly while it was in session, demanding an apology from Rayer but left without one.

At a subsequent protest at the DAP headquarters here, a group of 50 threatened to burn down the building and was reported to have vandalised property belonging to the party.

Umno leaders have called for calm among its members, however, have shied away from assuming responsibility arguing that political leaders cannot be held responsible for the actions of all its members.
