‘No fresh election for PKR’
As of now PKR does not have a problem with the ROS since there is still time to complete its party election, JPP chief affirms.
(Free Malaysia Today) – PKR Central Election Committee (JPP) has shunned down the idea to hold fresh polls for its controversial party election held recently because it will not be fair to party members.
When asked whether the committee has discussed the idea of scrapping off the party election altogether and call for a fresh election as suggested by a PKR top leader, the JPP chief Johari Abdul said they have decided against that.
“We have discussed it at length and we decided not to take a short cut by voiding all the election so far.
“The problem did not occur in all the divisions. Although there are a lot of complaints submitted but there are only a number of divisions that face problems and have to call re-election.
“It will not also be fair to the members who have turned up to cast their vote,” Johari said in a press conference here at PKR headquarters.
Previously, FMT was told by a source close to Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim that he had advised the JPP and the party to hold a fresh re-election in all divisions since the party election was mired in controversies.
According to Johari, as of now PKR does not have a problem with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) since there is still time to complete its party election.
“We have all of our documents intact. The election is not over yet, we do understand the law,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, JPP Objection Panel Chairman Abd Malek Hussein said that his panel conducted its hearing process up to wee hours to complete its investigation.
“We started the hearing process in the morning and ended around three to five the next morning every day,” he said.
