Teluk Intan: DAP concedes defeat in by-election

(NST) – DAP has conceded defeat in the Teluk Intan by-election.

Its candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud said she was disappointed that she could not defend the seat from Barisan Nasional.

“This is not the end of Dyana. I will not let you down … our battle is far from over. It must go on.

“I am here to stay,” she said when addressing a crowd at the DAP operations centre here.

Meanwhile, party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said DAP does not deny the fact that the vote was in favour of BN.

“However, we still reserve the right to challenge the result in future.

“For now, we need to conduct a post-mortem on the reasons behind the party’s defeat,” he said.

Asked if DAP will insist on a recounting, Lim said:

“Let us take a thing at a time,” he added.
