WITH regards to the Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA), we would like to present the following facts:

The first traffic study which was completed in 2012 was submitted to Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) in April 2012 to evaluate the rationale for the highway and its purpose.

The second report was an update of the first study, incorporating survey data collected in the second half of 2013. Following detailed discussions and reviews of the said report by LLM the traffic study was submitted to Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) in May this year.

16 local roads will see a traffic reduction of 20% to 30% from 2018 upon Kidex being operational.

The traffic reduction of 20% to 30% from the year 2028 will increase to 25 local roads.

A selection of these local roads includes but is not limited to:

5.1  Jalan Semangat
5.2  Jalan Selangor
5.3  Jalan Templer
5.4  Jalan Penchala
5.5  Jalan Kelang Lama

A third study is now underway and incorporates a significant number of additional survey data following further meetings and discussions with LLM and MBPJ. The TIA report version 3 is expected to be submitted to LLM by the end of June. This report will be submitted to MBPJ upon approval by LLM.

The TIA was conducted by Rundingan Trafik MZK Sdn Bhd which is a Malaysian company with a specialist who has successfully completed numerous traffic and transportation planning studies for the private sector in Malaysia with experience of more than 24 years. The firm provides professional consultancy services in traffic and transportation planning for the government and private sector in Malaysia.

The traffic modelling was conducted by Jacobs SKM.

Jacobs SKM is one of the world’s largest providers of technical, professional and construction services across multiple markets and geographies. Jacobs SKM employs more than 70,000 employees in over 250 offices worldwide.

Kidex will serve a densely populated area where the present vehicle usage is expected to grow by 19% by 2020.

Local roads will definitely continue to be choked and stressed by the rapidly growing number of vehicles. Kidex will alleviate traffic woes from Northern to Southern areas of the Klang Valley.
