MH370: Stop picking only on MAS

Politicians and the media should question the relevant authorities for answers and stop knocking on MAS’ door

All those seeking answers to the MH370 tragedy should question the right people.

Former Malaysia Airline Issue and Crisis manager S Anbarasu informed panelists attending a public forum last night that “everyone has been looking for answers in the wrong places”.

Research for social advancement (REFSA) senior fellow Lam Choong Wah, constitutional law expert Tommy Thomas and DAP  leader Lim Kit Siang were taken aback with Anbarasu’s statement.

He explained that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) would have to advise on the contents of their aircraft before being allowed to fly into another country’s airspace.

“So how can 2900 kilograms of mangosteens carried by a commercial aircraft be ‘unknown’, when Beijing would have known about the contents and the passengers?

“No country will allow an aircraft to fly into their airspace without being informed about what is on board the aircraft,” Anbarasu said.

He said that the countries the plane flew over such as Cambodia and Vietnam would want to know what is on board the aircraft before allowing it to pass through it’s airspace, as a precaution.

When panel member Thomas said that Malaysia’s reports regarding cargo content had been erased, Anbarasu rebutted his statement.

“Even though Malaysia has erased their cargo content report,  Cambodia, Vietnam and China should still possess their own copy,” said Anbarasu.
