Rafizi links prominent businessman to UiTM campus project

PKR today named a prominent corporate businessman with links to Umno as the latest recipient of a build-and-rent concession agreement for a Universiti Teknologi Mara ( UiTM) campus in Puncak Alam, Selangor.
Continuing with his expose on the construction of six UiTM campuses nationwide, Rafizi Ramli (PKR – Pandan) said Tan Sri Rozali Ismail’s (pic) subsidiary TRIplc Ventures Sdn Bhd has been given the contract to build the campus.
TRIplc is a company 100% owned by TRIplc Berhad, a public listed company in which at least 43% of the shares were controlled either by Rozali, his family or individuals close to him.
“This strengthens my stand that the construction of UiTM Puncak Alam has been given to a company controlled by Rozali, an Umno-linked businessman and those who have benefitted from his connections with Umno,” he said at a press conference at the Parliament lobby.
Rafizi said the shareholders of TRIplc comprised Rozali, Rozali’s brother, subsidiaries controlled by his three children as well as individuals who are either main contractors of water utilities companies Puncak Niaga and Syabas (both companies are also owned by Rozali) or part of Rozali’s Felda non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
