Perak Gerakan chief resigns
(The Sun Daily) – Perak Gerakan chief Dr Lee Chee Pheng has resigned from his post with immediate effect.
It was learned that Lee tendered his resignation letter at the party central committee meeting at about 12.30pm today.
His resignation was accepted and effective immediately.
According to a source, Lee made the decision to relinquish his position as the state Gerakan chairman because he needed to spend more time on his research studies.
“Lee said he made the decision even before the Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election.
“But he only tendered the resignation letter today because he wanted to help out during the by-election,” the source told theSun when contacted.
