Wong Tack and several others arrested

Lynas

(The Star) – Himpunan Hijau leader Wong Tack and several of his supporters have been arrested on Sunday after they refused to budge from protesting the operation of the Lynas rare earth refinery.

Earlier, a scuffle broke out when the protesters breached the police barricade.

Kuantan OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Salleh then ordered the group to disperse within 10 minutes.

Wong refused and sat down past the police line with some of his supporters.

They were promptly arrested after the time limit expired.

The group had begun to disperse with plans to assemble outside the Kuantan district police headquarters.
