DAP using Khalid as scapegoat

Selangor DAP should stop shirking responsibility by placing all the blame on Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and making him a scapegoat for the recurring water shortages.

In this latest water crisis episode, Selangor DAP Chairman Tony Pua and publicity secretary Ronnie Liu have teamed up to train their guns on Khalid through the media. However, their intention is obviously to put all the blame onto Khalid, thus making him the sole scapegoat, so that the entire Selangor Executive Council and state DAP leaders may wash their hands of the water crisis.

The Selangor Executive Councillors are part of the Selangor Government, and since DAP is part of the state government, they should collectively bear the responsibility and resolve the issue instead of shoving the responsibility to Khalid alone, which is very unfair.

Once again, the daily lives of the people are affected because of the water crisis, and DAP’s decision to play up populist policies through the media will not address the problem. If DAP is really in power, they should exercise their power to help Khalid in addressing the crisis; instead they have chosen to wait for the crisis to worsened so that Khalid can be made a scapegoat.

DAP only knows how to criticise without offering constructive suggestions

DAP has not provided any constructive proposals in this matter, but rather has decided to play along with the hidden agenda of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in toppling Khalid as the Menteri Besar. This again shows that DAP has no say in the coalition other than to follow instructions.

If Pua is a gentleman, he should also tell DAP to focus on resolving the water crisis instead of beating around the bush by issuing statements which can be construed as the pot calling the kettle black.

In Pua’s statement, he has never mentioned about the water crisis, which means that he could not clarify the issue honestly and that he is running away from responsibility.

DAP should be the “taikor” in PR, as they have more elected representatives than PKR or PAS. However, because of their plans to help topple Khalid, DAP can only attack him, and not PKR de facto leader Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Why is it that DAP does not dare to question Anwar, who is the state economic consultant, on the once-and-for-all solution and to prevent the deterioration of the state’s economy? This is because according to developers’ reports, 79 development projects have been postponed due to water shortages.

Besides that, Pua is also lying when he had accused MCA of not opposing the implementation of hudud law, as MCA leaders have already openly stated the party’s stand, unlike the quietness of DAP which keeps mum in front of PAS.
