Khalid: Stop speculating about me
He tells Shamsul Iskandar, who has asked him to quit, to raise the matter with PKR’s political bureau
(Free Malaysia Today) – Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has urged his colleagues in Pakatan Rakyat to stop speculating about his political future, especially in their statements to the media.
Referring to the latest of such statements, he suggested that Bukit Katil MP Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin take his grievances to the PKR political bureau.
Yesterday, Shamsul called on Khalid to quit his Menteri Besar’s post following the loss of his position as PKR’s Kuala Selangor divisional chief.
“Such matters should not be for discussion through the media,” Khalid told reporters here. “If necessary, it can be raised for discussion in the political bureau.”
Shamsul’s statement was the latest in a series of criticism that Pakatan Rakyat leaders have lately been making against Khalid. Other figures have not directly called for his resignation, but have expressed dissatisfaction with his handling of several issues, particularly the seizure of Bibles from the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) and the proposal to build the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex).
Khalid, speaking at a press conference following the weekly state exco meeting, said speculating about his future as Menteri Besar was of no benefit to Pakatan Rakyat.
