Selangor govt announces one-month bonus for civil servants for Aidilfitri

(Bernama) – The Selangor State Government today announced a one-month bonus for civil servants in the state for Aidilfitri.

Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the bonus would be given to 17,000 permanent, contract and part-time personnel involving an allocation of RM32.7 million.

“The bonus is given based on the hike in the collection of revenue of RM1.162 billion as of June 30,” he told reporters after chairing the weekly exco meeting here, today.

In another development, Abdul Khalid said the State Government had directed the State Audit Department to audit the offices of the members of the State Assembly, Members of Parliament and the State Assembly Coordinating office to monitor the usage of allocations for welfare under the ‘Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor’ (MES) programme.

He said, the aim of the audit was to facilitate the State Government in inspecting the effectiveness of welfare programmes carried out since 2008 and to monitor the allocations spent to reduce the risks of leakages, and to ensure that the aid given reached the targets.

“The result of the audit will be sent to the Selangor Integrity Action Council for summarising and overcome any weaknesses to boost the effectiveness of welfare programme,” he added.
