Musa must be held responsible for the failure of the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) to ensure security

John Joseph, Free Malaysia Today

Opposition legislators in Sabah filed an application yesterday on a vote of no confidence against Chief Minister Musa Aman following a series of kidnapping incidents in the state which has apparently severely affected  the tourism sector and the eastern seaboard.

They have also submitted an emergency motion to adjourn the July 14 to 16 sitting to discuss the issue of upping the oil royalty from the present measly 5% to a respectable 20%.

The motion would be tabled in the State Legislative Assembly by Dr Roland Chia (PKR-Inanam) and seconded by DAP Sabah vice-chairman and Sri Tanjong assemblyman Chan Foong Hin.

Chan submitted the application and the emergency motion to the state assembly secretariat on behalf of opposition leader and Klias state assemblyman Lajim Ukin, who is away in Kuala Lumpur.
