PAS and DAP differ on move to replace Khalid
(NST) – PAS Selangor has never agreed to the proposal of removing incumbent Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and replacing him with Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
It’s Commissioner Iskandar Abdul Samad said neither PAS Selangor or it’s central leadership had ever endorsed the appointment of a female menteri besar.
“During our previous meetings we have made the decision to stand behind Khalid in this crisis.
“We have also expressed that we never agreed to the proposal of replacing him in the first place,” he said.
When asked whether PAS Selangor would change their mind when it’s central leadership meets for the presidential council meeting, Iskandar said he could not comment on it.
Meanwhile, Selangor DAP chairman Tony Pua said the party fully supported Anwar’s decision and was firm in rejecting Abdul Khalid as the Selangor Menteri Besar.
“Selangor PAS’s decision in disagreeing with Wan Azizah’s appointment does not affect DAP’s stance in supporting this decision.
“DAP is firm that we will only give our full support to two Menteri Besar candidates, namely Wan Azizah or PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali,” he said when contacted.
