4 Firms In Iskandar Malaysia Get Facilitation Fund Totalling RM16.2 Million
(Bernama) – Four companies have received the facilitation fund amounting to RM16.2 million from TERAJU@Iskandar Malaysia in an information sharing programme on business opportunities and assistance for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Iskandar Malaysia last night.
Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) chief executive Datuk Ismail Ibrahim said the information sharing programme jointly organised with the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (TERAJU) is an annual event and aimed at explaining the programmes to help local Bumiputera entrepreneurs develop their business.
The companies that received the funds were Jana DCS Sdn Bhd, Jahasrat Farming Sdn Bhd, Cahaya Bumimas Sdn Bhd and Eaglexpress Air Charter Sdn Bhd, which are engaged in services, agriculture, property and logistics sectors, respectively, involving projects worth a total of RM164.3 million.
Ismail said through such programmes, IRDA would get suggestions and ideas from the companies to enable the authority to implement development initiatives for the small and medium industries.
“For instance, IRDA with the cooperation of TERAJU has created TERAJU@Iskandar Malaysia to empower entrepreneurs in Iskandar Malaysia through the award of High Performing Bumiputera Companies (TeraS) status and Facilitation Fund,” he said in a statement, here today.
TeraS, launched on July 20, 2011, aims to identify high potential Bumiputera companies and assist them to improve their business by providing business opportunities based on merit.
