(The Rakyat Post) – Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s decision to back Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to remain as Selangor Menteri Besar has drawn flak from fellow Pakatan Rakyat members.

PKR lawyer Latheefa Koya rebuked the PAS president on Twitter saying that Pakatan Rakyat’s massive victory during last year’s general election was not only due to one man alone, referring to Abdul Khalid.

“Hadi should learn from Kedah,” she said, alluding to calls in the past to remove the late Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak as Kedah MB due to poor leadership.

The move had never materialised allowing Barisan Nasional to wrest Kedah back in the 13th General Election.

Latheefa also took a swipe at Abdul Khalid, tweeting that he had to rely on Umno and Hadi for support as he was unwanted by his own party.

Meanwhile, PKR senator Dr Syed Husin Ali also questioned Hadi’s motives behind his support for the beleaguered MB.

In his tweet, Syed Husin said it was interesting to note that Umno, its paper Utusan and now Hadi seems to throw their support behind Abdul Khalid.

“Is Hadi reluctant to accept a woman as Menteri Besar? It is different from Nik Aziz’s stand,” he tweeted.

Syed Husin was referring to Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail nomination as Abdul Khalid’s successor and the alleged support thrown by Pas spiritual leader Datuk Seri Nik Aziz Nik Mat on her selection.

Syed Husin also questioned whether Hadi had rushed his opinion to the media on the matter.

“The Pakatan leadership has agreed on the change of  Menteri Besar. Is Hadi against it? Has the Pas’ central committee discussed about it already”.

Bernama reported today that Hadi, wanted Abdul Khalid to remain as MB in line with the wants of the majority of PAS grassroots members.

The Marang MP was reported to have said that he could not accept the grounds given by some quarters in wanting Abdul Khalid to step down before stating that the former should complete his term.
