Khalid’s fate will not be put to the vote
PAS will bring up the issue at their supreme council meeting to seek a consensus.
(Free Malaysia Today) – PAS vice-president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man says his party has no intention of supporting any move to table a vote of no confidence against Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim.
“We are confident that there will not be a vote of no confidence against Khalid and we will make sure the transition of replacing a Menteri Besar will be smooth,” he told FMT.
Tuan Ibrahim was responding to reports by some Pakatan leaders who wanted a vote of no confidence if Khalid refused to relinquish his post as the Menteri Besar.
Tuan Ibrahim also pointed out that he respects the stance of Selangor PAS commissioner Iskandar Samad who backs Khalid to remain as the Selangor Menteri Besar, but the decision will be made at a PAS central leadership meeting in August.
Khalid is now under pressure from his own members (PKR) to step down from the MB’s post.
Tuan Ibrahim also said any changes made has to be done in accordance with the state Constitution.
The push to oust Khalid has been going on for some weeks but has yet to gain support from PAS.
Tuan Ibrahim also said the PKR Menteri Besar proposal will be brought to his party level and a decision will be made soon.
“We will discuss and get a consensus on the issue after Hari Raya,” he added.
