Sacked PKR member won’t budge from his polls complaint with RoS

PKR-Poll

(The Star) – Sacked PKR member Arijan Osman, who was removed from the party for allegedly disputing the result of the Kuala Selangor division elections, says he accepts his dismissal but will not budge from his complaints to the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

While disappointed with the party for not living up to its cause for justice, Arijan said he would not return to the PKR and instead join an NGO.

He had sought to annul the divisional polls results, which saw former Kapar parliamentarian S. Manickavasagam defeating Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim to become the PKR Kuala Selangor division head.

Arijan was expelled from the party on July 17, three days after he lodged his report with the RoS.

The swift decision to remove him was announced by party disciplinary body chairman Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong, who said it was made during a political bureau meeting chaired by party vice-president Tian Chua on July 16,

“I have no regrets doing what I did,” Arijan said in a telephone interview yesterday.

He claimed to have raised several discrepancies and misconduct relating to the party elections since April 28 but there had not been any response to his complaints and protests.

He said there was a blackout during vote counting for the Kuala Selangor division election on June 26 but no proper explanation was given on this.

Moreover, there was a discrepancy between the number of empty ballot papers recorded at the central committee and the division levels, he said.

The long drawn PKR elections, which started in April, is expected to end after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
