Faekah responds sarcastically to Guan Eng’s support for woman mentri besar

(The Star) – Following a statement by Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng supporting the appointment of a woman as Selangor Mentri Besar, Faekah Husin, the former political secretary for Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, responded by tweeting Saturday that Penang should start first.

Referring to the statement made by Lim on Friday, Faekah tweeted, “Ya mula dengan P.Pinang (Yes, start with Penang). Go for it Betty!” clearly directing the message at Guan Eng’s wife, Betty Chew Gek Cheng.

The tweet appears to be clearly sarcastic as Betty the former Kota Laksamana assemblyman, did not contest in the 13th General Election and currently does not hold a political position.

The tweet also reflected Faekah’s support of Khalid as she presently heads Mentri Besar Incorporated (MBI).

On Friday, Guan Eng had called on leaders from all political parties to make their stands with regard the appointment of a woman as mentri besar.

A crisis is brewing over the position of Khalid as Selangor Mentri Besar.

Last Wednesday, the Pakatan Rakyat leadership agreed in principle for Khalid to be replaced as Selangor MB by Kajang assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

However, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and spiritual adviser Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat shot that down and publicly supported Khalid.
