Minor Reshuffle In Terengganu UMNO
(Bernama) – The Terengganu UMNO has carried out a minor reshuffle in the leadership lineup in an effort to further strengthen the party machinery and to ensure the state remain under Barisan Nasional (BN).
The reshuffle involved three posts, namely secretary, treasurer and information chief.
State UMNO Liaison chairman Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman, who is Terengganu Menteri Besar, announced this at the Menteri Besar’s Aidilfitri Open House at Dataran Permata, Seberang Takir, Saturday.
He said Jertih Assemblyman, Muhammad Pehimi Yusof, who is State Health, Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman, was appointed State UMNO Treasurer, replacing Datuk Tengku Putera Tengku Awang.
Kuala Terengganu UMNO divisional treasurer Mohd Nasir Yusof is the party new state treasurer. He replaces Nik Dir Nik Wan Ku.
The reshuffle also saw Datuk Abdul Rahman Bakar being dropped as information chief and was replaced by Air Putih Assemblyman Wan Abdul Hakim Wan Mokhtar.
Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Jailani Johari, who is Hulu Terengganu Member of Parliament remained as the state UMNO deputy liaison chairman.
Ahmad Razif said the reshuffle had been agreed by party president, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
