Selangor MB crisis: PKR plans to release exposé on Khalid
(The Star) – PKR is planning to release a detailed exposé on Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, in a latest move believed to convince their allies on the party’s adamant stance in removing the Selangor Mentri Besar.
Its secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the document highlighted some court cases which questioned Khalid’s integrity as an office bearer.
The court cases, he said, involved an out of court settlement with Bank Islam over the RM66.67mil Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd shares when Khalid was the group’s chief executive officer.
The 40-page document also highlighted a land deal to a public-listed property corporation under the state government’s affordable housing programme below a market price.
“We have called him for explanation on the dealings but we haven’t got anything. We are questioning his integrity,” he said.
With the written detailed explanation, he said that PKR hopes to reinforce its decision among its Pakatan Rakyat allies that Khalid should be replaced by the party’s president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
He said the document will be distributed on Tuesday to all Pakatan leaders.
Saifuddin said the latest move was needed to let its allies know the party’s version as to why there was a need to replace the embattled mentri besar.
“It is a necessity for us to explain our reasons why such decision needs to be made. I have made the documents in writing and we will distribute them to all Pakatan leaders, including PAS and DAP,” he said.
Khalid has been pressured to relinquish his mentri besar position, to pave way for Dr Wan Azizah, who is also a Kajang assemblyman.
However, there has been disagreement within the Pakatan pact to remove him, especially from PAS.
