No new nomination for Selangor MB post, says Guan Eng

(The Star) – The DAP has not received any new nomination for the post of Selangor Mentri Besar, said party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

Commenting on a report by a Chinese daily that PAS would nominate Ijok assemblyman Dr Idris Ahmad as a candidate for the MB post, Lim said Tuesday that Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was the sole nominee.

He added that it was up to PKR to make any nomination however, candidates must be announced by the party’s president.

On Monday, PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution dismissed suggestions that the party had picked an alternative candidate for the post of Selangor MB.

Saifuddin said the decision to stick with Dr Wan Azizah was reiterated at a political bureau meeting on Sunday night.
