‘PAS Youth chief attack against Penang DAP unprovoked’
(The Rakyat Post) – Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng today expressed shock over a statement made by PAS Youth chief and central committee member Nasrudin Hassan Tantawi, who openly criticised Penang over the undersea tunnel in the state.
Describing the issue as a form of unprovoked attack, a press statement has been issued today by the Chief Minister’s office to slam Nasrudin, who is also the Temerloh Member of Parliament.
Lim, in his statement, had also associated Umno in the recent protest by PAS towards the DAP.
“It is very clear that Umno’s dirty tactics have been employed in creating slander against the Chief Minister and the allegations made will be responded to in a press conference tomorrow,” read the statement sent through Lim’s special assistant Nor Diana Mohd Zabidi.
Previously, Nasrudin had questioned the reason behind the attacks against Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim with regard to the Kidex Highway issue when the undersea tunnel project issue in Penang by the DAP-led government had never been raised.
Nasrudin had reportedly said the project was bound to worsen traffic congestion, an already existing problem in Penang, and raised doubts on the implementation of the project when the state had recorded a deficit in its budget six years in a row.
