PAS Youth support for Khalid growing

(The Star) – Support for Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim is snowballing among PAS Youth.

The movement’s Selangor, Tereng-ganu and the Federal Territories’ wings have come out in support of Khalid to continue as Selangor Mentri Besar and those in most other states are expected to follow suit soon, according to FT PAS Youth chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin.

“I expect most of the other state PAS Youth wings will also issue statements soon in support of the Syura council decision that Khalid should be retained, after which the national PAS Youth may declare its stand on the matter,” he said.

The FT PAS Youth issued a statement denouncing the daily attacks and propaganda against Khalid aimed to dislodge him as mentri besar.

“We are confident that the decision (of the Syura council) will ease the tension of PAS supporters as the council, the party’s highest institution, has made a clear decision after taking into account all related information,” Khairil said.

On Wednesday, Terengganu PAS Youth declared its undivided support for party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s opinion that Khalid should be retained.

The next day, Selangor PAS Youth chief Sharhan Humaizi Halim also expressed support for Khalid’s administration.
