(The Malaysian Insider) – PAS remains with the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalition although PKR has sacked Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, party secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali said today.

He also told the party website Harakahdaily that all four Selangor PAS executive councillors will remain in office despite Khalid’s status as an independent menteri besar after being expelled from PKR yesterday.

“The PAS leadership is handling the issue prudently, carefully and intelligently with the leadership of the other Pakatan Rakyat parties,” Mustafa said when contacted by Harakahdaily.

Selangor PAS has also confirmed that the four PAS lawmakers in the state government will not give up their posts, similar to the stand taken by the DAP leadership today.

The exco members are Cempaka assemblyman Iskandar Abdul Samad (housing, building management and urban settlers); Sabak assemblyman Sallehen Mukhyi (Islamic affairs, agricultural modernisation and rural development); Selat Klang assemblyman Dr Halimah Ali (education and higher education and human capital development); and Sijangkang assemblyman Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi (youth and sports, infrastructure and public facilities).

Selangor PAS commissioner Iskandar Abdul Samad confirmed Mustafa’s statement.

“It will be business as usual for PAS assemblymen tomorrow,” Iskandar said, adding that it was also highly unlikely that Khalid would be joining the Islamist party.
