Selangor MB crisis: BN will support Khalid in the event of no-confidence motion
(The Star) – Barisan Nasional will throw its support behind Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim in the event a no-confidence motion is tabled, says Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic).
He said all Selangor Barisan assemblymen would vote for Khalid if such a motion was tabled in the state assembly.
“Our support for Tan Sri Khalid is because we consider the importance of a stability in Selangor.
“Any unnecessary change of leadership can seriously affect efforts to address water problems in Selangor,” he said after chairing the cabinet committee on tourism here on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, after meeting Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Khalid had said that he would remain as Mentri Besar, and any executive councillor who declined to work with him could resign.
“I won’t be leaving. If the exco members don’t agree with me, they can leave. I will remain Mentri Besar until further developments,” he had said.
Khalid was expelled from PKR on Saturday.
