Selangor MB crisis: PAS wants report on two reps who support Wan Azizah

(The Star) – Selangor PAS has been directed to prepare a report on its two assemblymen for going against the Syura Council’s decision and support PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as mentri besar.

PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali was quoted in Harakah Daily that he had contacted state commissioner, Iskandar Abdul Samad, and asked for a full report on the issue.

The party is expected to meet this Sunday to decide on whether to accept Dr Wan Azizah as a replacement for current Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

Morib assemblyman Hasnul Baharuddin and Hulu Kelang assemblyman Saari Sungib had made their intentions known at a press conference with Dr Wan Azizah earlier on Thursday.

The press conference with PKR and DAP representatives was held as a show of majority support for Dr Wan Azizah in the Selangor State Assembly.

Hasnul and Saari had said they would support Dr Wan Azizah to replace current embattled Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

Prior to this, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and the party’s Syura Council had openly supported Khalid, who was sacked from PKR last Saturday.
