(Astro Awani) – PAS has no intentions of taking advantage of the volatile situation surrounding the Selangor Menteri Besar seat.

PAS secretary-general, Datuk Mustafa Ali said, the office was entrusted to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and agreed upon by Pakatan since the beginning, after Selangor was taken over from Barisan Nasional (BN).

“Though we have the seats, we will not claim the post. We have made an early decision not to do so as it was agreed it would go to PKR,” he said during a press conference after the Lajnah Politic PAS meeting on Thursday.

He added that the meeting also agreed to investigate two State Assemblymen who supported PKR president, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the state’s menteri besar.

“We will examine the matter first before taking any action. We have sought for the report from PAS Selangor and will ask the two individuals to explain themselves to the PAS council,” he said. The two state assembly men are Saari Sungip from Hulu Kelang and Hasnal Baharuddin from Morib.

Meanwhile, Mustafa confirmed that four Excos who are staunchly support the state’s MB – Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim – are Pakatan Rakyat members.

“We still consider it the Pakatan Rakyat government, the four Exco members of Pakatan Rakyat after the sacking of PKR and DAP Excos earlier this week.

“We will continue to support our government, we have to interpret it slightly differently and we will stand by our government regardless who will become the state’s MB. We will support our government,”  Mustafa said.

He also added that any other issue regarding the party and its dealings with Pakatan Rakyat will be announced after the official meeting to be held on Sunday.
