PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu said it will be out of PAS’s hands should the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah choose to reject the proposal agreed to by PAS.
According to him, the two names proposed were president of PKR, Dr Wan Azizah and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.
“If the Sultan of Selangor does not agree with the two names proposed by PAS, there is nothing we can do,” he said.
Mohamad Sabu also explained that PAS had given serious thought to the proposals after an in-depth discussion and lengthy deliberations.
“PAS will remain committed to Pakatan Rakyat,” he said in a press conference at the PAS headquarters.
“PAS will not offer any of its own candidates for the office of Selangor MB and will continue to respect the Pakatan spirit in proposing suitable candidates for the post.
“The decision was reached by consensus,” he confirmed.
Meanwhile PAS Youth chief, Suhaizan Kayat said that in answer to their prayers, PAS members were able to arrive at a dynamic decision.
